It’s crazy how much money you can save traveling on vacation by staying in a vacation home. But if you don’t know the travel tips and travel hacks I share in this video, you will end up with the wrong vacation rental or pay more than you need to! Those vacation rental fees add up if you aren’t careful. And there are travel hacks to get around them (or pay a lot less!)

I have always stayed in a hotel but I haven't been on many vacations. I certainly would stay in an Airbnb if it meant being able to afford to take vacations more often because they are cheaper then hotels.

I wanted to tell you Melea that It cosmetics–Bye Bye Breakout treatment concealer is the BEST full coverage concealer on Earth. I did have to buy two bottles–Light and Fair.. And emptied both jars and mixed them together to create a shade that matches my skin because fair was too light, Light too dark… But besides that–I have problem skin that breaks out-and that makeup makes EVERYTHING VANISH. I've tried EVERY waterproof full coverage concealer and this is the ONE. They don't sell ANYTHING like it at All. A jar costs $28… But it'll make a bad red breakout face look FLAWLESS. It's insane. I wrote this to help other of your subs that suffer with combination, oily, breakouts… You name it. It's worth the price to be able to go out in public without the fear and shame/paranoia that people will stare at my breakout face. I can email you a photo of me, and the miracle of this stuff if you want to see the results.

We always do Airbnb for Disney (though they will be illegal soon 🙁 in Anaheim) and they are so great! We also used them all over Italy and it saved us sooo much money!

Vacation rentals are my go-to as well! Two tips:
1) compare reviews on aggregator sites (ie VRBO) and property management companies as the latter seems to edit or remove negative/neutral ones.
2) I've had success with better deals when calling to ask "is this the best deal that's offered?" Because phone reps work on commission, they often can discount a bit more. 🙂

Definitely trying this vacation home rental thing out! That home was beautiful!!
Our choice is Airbnb definitely or Vacationrental on Booking.com or Travelocity, but I found that Homeaway owns a lot of these vacation Houses rental websites. It's like once you rent a vacation home you feel more connected ( more personal, like you live in that city instead of just visiting) instead of staying in a hotel or motel.
I found that once you select or press on Rent on the same house you want prices will increase or there is a time limit that you have to rent when I went on Booking.com. The tricky part is reading all the fine prints, like scroll through the bottom pages and links like you mentioned Melea. The owner or management company of the rental home will contact you via email through the approval or cancellation process. Then you sign a contract with them, there may or may not be a cleaning fee or deposit for damages. You have a deadline to cancel with varying amounts of money back or none depending on your contract.
I love to use vacation rentals with 10+ people, so much cheaper!

I always cost compare with hotels and vacation rentals. Especially when traveling with a larger group. It's super helpful to have a large space when traveling with my 1 year old. It means we're more likely to have a separate room for her and we all sleep better!
