I love these ideas! I got a little misty when you said that kids really just want our time. It's true! Growing up my mom always got us Valentine's and we loved it!
One thing she did when we got a little older was she got a cute valentine's bucket at the Target $1 Spot and some themed post-it notes, left them on the table with pens, and we'd (my siblings, friends who came over, parents, anyone) would write to whomever and throw them in the Love Bucket.
So everyday you'd just check the Love Bucket to see if you had any new notes from anyone.
When my sister and I moved away my mom got us each a love bucket and we did it with our college roommates. I have saved all the notes from the past several years and they are such fun memories!

I love it, I always got my 3 daughters candy and a teddy bear. Now that they are much older I can use these cool ideas. I love the socks, pj's and sticky notes ideas. I am def going to use this upcoming Valentine's Day. It's a great idea for parents to do, not just for the younger kids but the older middle and high school kids. Not all of them are in the " dating " scene, so this helps make them feel special when they don't have that boyfriend or girlfriend, and they don't feel left out. Thanks for sharing
