I think one of most surprised things I found out I could claim is car tags ? Per my CPA .

I have a CPA who does them and she advised me on it she enters how much I did for the year on how many cars at one time I had 6 because teens driving taxes add up , not sure about your state but it you spend a certain amount on lottery tickets we can deduct that too so crazy ?

always check with the IRS as well because tax law changes yearly in some areas. you can go to the IRS and they will list all new information and changes that have been made.
Melea! Your #3 is partially right. If you have an agricultural job you can deduct travel expenses. Just found that out this year while filing. Thank you for this video! Loved it!

On the home office deductions, the office has to be an actual separate and dedicated room. It can't be a desk nestled in a corner of your living room etc.

Here is the full list: You can NOT deduct…1) Credit Card Interest payments; you CAN if you have a business credit card though2) Gym memberships; you CAN if it is prescribed by a doctor/physician3) Commuting cost (gas, mileage) to work; you CAN if it is outside typical trips to and from work though (unless you are getting reimbursed by your work)4) you cannot claim your pet as a dependent unless service or guide dog5) plastic surgery costs unless prescribed by doctor/physician6) home improvements; unless it improves home office or is energy efficient 7) political contributions8) charity donations: be careful9) child support payments: can't write off child support payments, but you ca deduct alimony payments
