Terro ant baits you can buy at Home Depot works great!
Ants drive me crazy. These traps work good. Place them where you see them coming from.
Sorry this is happening. I am sure all of us can relate to this kind of day and problems. Thanks for being real!!
A friend of mine told me lavender plant or oil will keep ants and spiders away. We have ants too. I completely understand the frustration!! Keep your head up !!
We were given a ridiculous estimate for a new AC unit then found another dealer who had a more realistic and better price. I would keep asking around for estimates if it comes down to installing a new unit.
I've tried adding peppermint oil to my floor wash ( they say ants don't like the smell ) the did not seem to mind it in my house. Cinnamon – did not work. Baking soda – did not work.
The only thing that works is Terro Ant Killer Liquid Ant Baits. I was told by a pest control guy to use them.
They are propbale coming in for water if it's so hot outside. If you have pets, you need to pick up their food/water or leave a terro bait trap near their food. Be sure they don't play with it or small children. You can slide the traps under fridge, oven, dishwasher so they are out of the way.
If you have bushes next to your home, they like to build nests.
We had professional bug people at my old home come out once a quarter to spray for ants and spiders. They did a great job. They cleared any obvious webs, checked for nests. Once we started them we were good to go.
I feel your disgust!
We use this ant block stuff called Amdro Ant Block, around the outside of our house. It's works! We just had ants coming in the front and back doors of our house and it's stopped as soon as we used that stuff. We've gotten it at every place we've lived and it's always worked.
I've also had luck with peppermint essential oil inside the house for ants. I just rub it along the baseboards with a tissue.
We've had air conditioner problems in the past as well and they are so expensive! One tip I would share is to not let the air conditioning company just keep coming and refilling the freeon (not sure what's it's called, actually). We paid A LOT because the company didn't know what they were doing and there was a leak and they just kept refilling it and it would last a day or so and be out again. Also, find a good company you trust! Good luck!

We also use these bug clickers. I don't know what they are actually called… I would post a pic but YouTube didn't have that option. The clickers plug into outlets and are Sonic emitters (or something like that). It's supposed to keep bugs and pests away. They are plugged in all over our house! We have the occasional bug but it does seem to really help. We hate bugs!!
Also, in the toy section we found a bug sucker!! You can suck up the bug, close the tube and let it out somewhere else, or if you are like us we flush it!! We don't like bugs and we live in KY… there's a lot of big bugs! I'd be happy to share pics of the gadgets and stuff, maybe on Facebook or something if you'd like. Let me know ð
Luckily I have a swamp cooler! No expensive A/C replacement issues. I live In Riverton, Wyoming and moved here from Alabama where central air is king. Have you heard of using cornmeal for ants? Cheap, safe and worked for me. I live ON an ant hill (ha ha). The ants cannot actually digest the cornmeal so it starves them to death.
i herd that ants don't like cinnamon. put it on a cotton ball and it will drive away the ants.
We had ants last year and again this year. Not as bad as what you had thankfully. We used the same traps you used in your video and after a few days we haven't had anymore so far this year. Oh and we sprayed ant killer outside where we found they were coming in. So hopefully they work as well for you. We stopped using a pest control because of similar issues. Sorry I can't help with the AC problem. I hope you can figure it out soon!
Bad days?…We all can relate!!!! Trust me.
Ants….. So they don't crawl in your FRONT/BACK DOORS
âHOUSEHOLD SALT: place a border OUTSIDE doorways . Inside too if you can.
âUse LEMON PEEL/LEMONS.?
ð´KIDS CHALK!!!! ($1)
Draw a Line in FRONT of your Doorway *Outside.
â¹I Have personally USED the SALT & CHALK… REALLY WORK. SAFE for Kids & Pets.. The ants won't cross the CHALK OR SALT !!!!
I've also used Antð Traps .
With all the Rain there are a ton of anthills. Be Careful.
A/C. Does it need Freon?
Central Air… is anything kinked or blocked outside?
Hope We All helped!
Have you looked into using borax soap to get rid of ants?By sprinkling it around your foundation or in your home it should help. There are youtube videos and blog posts out there for it. My family has used this remedy for years, but it doesn't work alone. the traps you used and other methods should help. it takes more than one method to rid a pest. if you can find the hole or hill they are coming out of then pour raid or borax solution or something down it.
I use comet at my door and where they are at. At forst I hest up a hot towel and wipe them up as much as I can.afterwards. I use raid after they are gone I spray at the edge and entrance outside and a little further. once a week……Mâ¡M of 5
Oh my God, they are big. Where I grew up those were outside. I moved I here they are small and beige and hard to see and floordls is beige…..Mâ¡M of 5
Don't replace the HVAC unit, do you happen to have a home warranty policy?
If that's a no, then did the AC tech tell you what is wrong with it? If so check with the manufacturer to see if it's under manufacturer warranty.
Let me know if you need more help.
We've had the same issue this winter and spring. Terro Ant Killer Liquid Ant Baits does work, but we found that in a couple weeks they find another spot in the house to invade. Borax worked too, but keep kids and pets away from the area until you can vacuum it up in a couple days. We ended up having a company come spray inside the garage and up to three feet outside the house. And we had luck with that. Home Defense worked for a bit on ant piles, but we had to keep spraying. So far the pest control folks we had worked. It was a local company with more natural products that happened to be cheaper than the big name guys. Good luck – it's so frustrating!
Thanks for being so real! And I love ending with the things you're thankful for. 🙂 Good luck with everything!
ant killer is scary because you don't want it in your house and it's incredibly harmful to your kids. We had a problem with ants and totally fixed it with Diatomaceous Earth. It's completely safe and very cheap. I put it everywhere the ants come in. They can't go through it without dying. Research it and use it! It's a piece of mind and so safe! I love it.
Jess D where can I purchase this?
Madison Shorty you can buy it at Home Depot, Lowes, Walmart, Amazon, some health food stores, stores that sell animal feed often carry it. You can get a good sized bag (medium sized) for about $10 or less. Sometimes they sell small containers that are more expensive so just make sure you look around for the better deal. Google it and it'll come up with info for ya.
Will it work for other bug? Termites for example.
Bettylou it works for other insects with exoskeletons like bed bugs, fleas…it works by breaking down their exoskeleton and drying out their innards. It has to stay dry or be reapplied. We sprinkled out by our door openings and around cracks and openings and haven't had a problem since. It would kill termites but I'm not sure how effective it would be. Google it and I'm sure you could get some great information.
I tried cinnamon, baking soda, vinegar and none of it worked. I went to the store and bought Orange Guard spray, it isn't harmful to you, your kids or pets and leaves your house smelling like an orange!
wd 40 gets rid of them my gma swears by that stuff and it works!
Home Depot really is a good place to get supplies for pest control. My hubby and I like DIY to save money. Ortho home defense is something we see evidence of working around our home. We spray every 3 months or so around the Windows, doors etc of our entire house. We know it works because we see dead things on the ground and find ourselves needing to sweep it up outside. We also use Terro ant baits , we place them outside in our veggie garden because that is a ant hill magnet for us. We almost called pest control last year when we got a yellow jacket nest in our main level laundry room vent ( we had ripe grapes on the vine in the yard outside the vent ) . Yellow jackets were in my house and I was freaking out -my kids were braver than me ! Home Depot had a cheap fogger. We fogged the house and they all died a glorious death. We read Home Depot product reviews online before picking out the fogger. Good luck to you! We've all been there holding that darn broken cinnamon sucker at times.
Put peppermint on a cotton ball
Get Ecosmart it works great. It is safe to use around kid's and animals. You can get it from Target. It is non toxic.
spray: I went on Pinterest and ended up eyeballing a mixture of eater, vinegar, blue dawn dish soap, and peppermint essential oil in a spray bottle. it works amazing as an ant/spider killer. Just spray the ants, wait a minute or two for them to die, then I just use a paper towel to wipe them up. also have had success with the ant bait, the brand I buy is hotshot from home depot. it gets pretty gross at first, I had mine inside my bathroom, the first 3 days it got worse! after that they all all disappeared (it takes time for them to take it back to their colony). I did a few things to keep them contained within their trail during that time, like making a trail of cinnamon where I didn't want them to pass, or lining paper towels with that spray where I didn't want them to go past. I have heard that anthro works great bit haven't found it to try. I did try the Pinterest ant bait mixtures of baking soda and sigar, or similar mixtures, and those did not work for me at all. wish you luck! I know some people swear by just using a pest control company and it works for them, but we didn't want to spend that money if we didn't have to. normally we just spray outside the house ourselves every 2 to 4 weeks, we got a big pest control spray from home depot, don't remember the brand but it has a sprayer nozzle and it's a mostly white huge bottle, it works great, we find a lot of dead bugs outside or in our garage (we only spray outside).
we got the home defense brand of bug spray, I saw it in your video
We had those in a rental house we were living in. They were coming in through the A/C vents. The exterminator got up in the attic and "dusted" the attic with some kind of powder poison. It worked almost immediately. Good luck!
It's the season changing. If you go to a bug store and buy Demon pest/bug spray and caulking they'll be gone within 2-3 weeks.
pest control guy may be trying to get the queen. He probably laid bait and a long lasting killer. Whenever pest control comes he warns me the next week may be worse because they want to get the ants to take the poison to the nest. Good luck!
I sure would like you to do a video on moles!
Our AC went out last summer and we used our home warranty to get it fixed. We paid $60 for them to look at it and the other $600 was covered under our home warranty. I'm in Kansas and we used Bob Hamilton to fix our AC.
saw the end of your video, lol I had an infestation of wolf spiders and MOTHS when we lived in colorado., it was a nightmare lol.
wd 40 gets rid of them my gma swears by that stuff and it works!
get ready for battle, get alllllll your paper towels and windex. spray and kill them. follow them to where they are going in your cabinets, take everything out of the cabinets and kill them. the windex will kill their scent trail. when you've killed every one of them there trail will be gone and so will the ants! I live in arkansas, this is something we have to deal with, and it's the only thing that's ever worked longterm!!
Suspend SC. Look it up on Amazon. We have been using this for a couple years because of an ant infestation. A bottle will last forever because you dilute it. We spray every 6 months and don't see any bugs in our house. It's non toxic and doesn't smell, so it's great for kids (you can be around when it is sprayed). My brother did past control in Tennesee and this is what they used! Good luck!
My dad was a builder for years and always used Amdro! Worked like a charm every single time. You just sprinkle the pellets where they're coming from, and they take it back to the mound. I like that it's not a spray. I much prefer using natural remedies, too, but sometimes this is just way easier! haha
I get you i had a mini bee thing – coming in my house and outside and not only that it was mother's day weekend – I too wanted to turn in my adlutiing card and cry while at Walmart buying bee/ wasp stuff – then to add insult to injury waitress at red lobster ( Very rare treat) charged me for dinner price when at lunch hours and I gave her lunch coupon – not my best mother's day ever. So yea I feel ya. It will get better ð·ð·read scriptures for strength and answers ð·and I believe essential oil willl help future repel the ants also chalk .
I know this is not ideal because of kids but I used AJAX. i put it on the places they were coming from and they disappeared in a matter of hours. just put a little since but since your kids are gone it will help a ton. I had ants everywhere and this was the only thing that worked.
Just sayings We are all sinners. We have bad days like you have But I got good News Jesus died on the cross for our sin If you believe you can receive that You can ask me any questions that you have about that
I really like the ortho home defense. I also love my shark vacuum! The a/c issue I don't know they are expensive! How old is it. They just don't last like they used to. If it's not very old it may be under warranty. Or we had our a/c stop working and it turned out a big climbed up in the unit and got fried.
praying for, thank you for sharing.
Our AC is out too! Love these cooler days when you're in our shoes. Good luck with things! Thanks for sharing a real day! ð
Suspend SC pesticide, commercial grade on Amazon I think. It is strong enough to kill scorpions at my house. I love it!
I had a horrible aunt infestation at my house. I tried everything–exterminators, Chemical baits, Borax and honey mix, & baking soda sprinkled along the baseboards… nothing worked. There must have been hundreds of thousands of them, and they just kept up a constant flow. I think you need to find the source of where they nest and deal with it from there. I had a shed located just outside my kitchen, and they had a huge nest under that. Eventually, I moved⦠LOL but not because of the ants. In either case, my problem was solved.
ANT not aunt! LOL my aunts are not a problem.
use combat ant killing gel and go around your house and cock every crack you see and cock under your sinks and don't leave out food or anything wet good luck
