We do a gift on Christmas Eve . We make Christmas cookies . We take Christmas gifts over to the kids next door ððð the PJs are so cute
One of the first people
On Christmas eve when we were little, we would pile in the car and drive around looking at Christmas lights. When we got home, Santa had dropped off a new stuffed animal for each child to sleep with on Christmas eve. We opened new christmas jammies, watched Mickey's Christmas Carol and How the Grinch Stole Christmas and set out milk and cookies for Santa before bed. When we got older, things stayed the same, but we added playing Pictionary or Cranium.
Fun ideas!
Looks fun!! At what age did the kids get involved with family tradition? I can't wait til my baby is old enough to join in on the fun festivities. Merry Christmas to you and your family!!
Oh young… my niece is only 18 months in this video and she did a "talent". 😉
Hey everyone!! Tell me one of you family's Christmas Traditions! Would love to know and maybe steal it for next year.ðð
Our Christmas tradition is eating until midnight and opening one gift at 12:01 am and saying a prayer for all the children in the world before we do it
Fun!
We always get to open a gift on Christmas Eve, which is always pj's and a book and a family game, which we then play together. We also wait until New Year's Eve at midnight (now that our kids are older), to "open" stockings just to kind of extend the holidays a little. We started this about 20 yrs ago and our kids love it.
Cool idea to extend the Christmas Stockings out!
We open one present each….always pajamas. We change into our new PJ's….jump in the car and drive around looking at all the Christmas lights and displays in and around our little town.. we come home and make hot chocolate…coffee for the grown ups. Then I read "The Night Before Christmas " before the kids go to bed. My girls are now 18 and 22 and we still love our little tradition.
Oh my goodness tell me where you got those adorable pjs for the kids please I would love one for my baby niece
I linked you to them. Just click on the i in the right hand upper corner of the video. 🙂
growing up all of the kids in the family would go to bed early on Christmas Eve and sleep in the same room and watch a Christmas movie together
So fun!
We do Christmas bells every year and have giant sheet music to play them to as a group
my kids exchange gifts from each other
We always do matching pjs and lots of games!
My family plays Bingo on Christmas Eve and they can pick a present or steal….its super fun for all.
Opening PJ's on Christmas Eve. I'm looking for new ideas for traditions so I'll have to come back to read comments made after mine.
pizza on chrismas eve
This all looks like so much fun. We don't really have a lot of Christmas traditions. We do read Luke 2 on Christmas Eve before the kids go to bed and last year we played games until it was time for bed. It was a lot of fun and I think we're going to do it again this year.
Hey Melea! What a beautiful family and a fun time! We do a few things. We make tamales, we sing songs, share stories, play games and we love to go walking around to see all the neighborhood Christmas lights. We also make a night of driving through the botanical garden in our town since they put on a beautiful show of lights. There is also the tinsel trees downtown that we walk around and look at over 200 xmas decorated trees. These last two activities we do close to xmas. They help bring the xmas spirit. When I was little my family did a xmas exchange because we are large catholic families and it was great to find who was my secret santa.
Oh, my goodness, Melea! I had so much fun watching your family! And you parents! I can't believe they did that! We are boring by comparison! But who's comparing! We go to the La Verkin Christmas Eve program where Santa comes and the kids sit in his lap and tell him their wish lists, then they are given a paper sack filled with nuts, candies, and an orange. As a family we come home and the kids open their Christmas Eve gifts, usually pj's, but it varies. Then we watch A Christmas Story together and eat goodies. Out of EVERYTHING we do each year durinf the Holidays, the kids all claim this to be one of their FAVE traditions which I just really found so interesting! Merry Christmas from our Home to yours!!ððð
White Elephant gift exchange. ð always looking forward to it
awesome
One tradition that my in laws do is we have homemade pizza and do a live nativity on Christmas eve. We then have Jack and Box at Midnight we then eat them and open our gifts at midnight.
So cute! What a beautiful family! Merry Christmas!
lolll super cute ! Merry Christmas
we celebrate our family Christmas after Christmas. We got so big, it was hard. Everyone wants to be home Christmas day with their own kids, some go to other in laws on Christmas eve, etc. Then we just bring a gift valued at $25 for the adult exchange. Kids under 16get gifts from everyone. We aren't going this year (health) but we will HAVE a full house and play Shanghai rummy. Merry Christmas!
On Christmas eve we always go to a relatives house and have a Christmas buffet with all of the family. When we get home we then get given a shoe box full of PJs sweets hot chocolate and a film to watch before bed.
You have a great Family â¤ï¸â¤ï¸â¤ï¸ï»¿
That indeed look very fun^^ hehe Thank you for this video! 😀 I've never had fun tradition like that in my family^^
Kinda want to do the silly string fight with my family this year. Hm. Maybe. Heehee. My family don't have very many Christmas traditions. But we do have a few. 1. On Christmas eve right before we go to sleep we open 1 gift each. 2. All us "kids" have a sleepover together 3. Early Christmas morning hot coco
Haha I'm cracking up from when you said, "the only rule is stay in the street" cause usually it's the other way around.
we don't have any but I'm planning on stealing some of yours!
We have a talen show in the fall. At least we used to before we moved abroad.
I guess our favorite Cmas Eve tradition is to open a present the night before…but doesnt everyone. LOL.
We have an advent book we read all year. So when we are done with stockings (Which usually takes 2 hours) we finish our books. That way the focus is on Jesus for a little while and off presents.
We always do Christmas pj's too on Christmas Eve!
We always have the kids act out the nativity story as we read from the Bible. We open Christmas pjs and hang out with extended family. We usually play some kind of game as well. I'm actually loving your bell music! I'm very tempted to have some bells made…I'm sure my husband would love that…
We go sledding each year.
White elephant gift exchange and dinner always on Christmas Eve with the family and then Christmas morning we'll have breakfast and Christmas night we have another dinner just for social gathering in to show off all her new presents that we got and the talent show video was so cute
