Amazon changes their prices so if there is a product you like and use often, go to CamelCamelCamel.com and copy the URL and it will show you the price history so you can see what's a good deal. And you can set up email alerts when it drops below a certain price so you don't have to constantly checking prices. Once it drops to where you want it, subscribe again even if you don't need it yet, stocking up in advance saves tons of money (if it's something you use regularly)
The Melea Show says
+haert2run Yes! CamelCamelCamel.com is awesome for people who may not know what a great price is for items they are purchasing. Also awesome for Christmas Shopping!
Amberly Ostler says
Great tips!!!! But, You made it sound like diapers won't count toward the five items to get the extra discount, when I've had them count before. They just didn't get the extra discount. You may want to double check that for people! For me, I had two boxes of diapers, two boxes of wipes and a container of diaper rash cream and got the 15% instead of the 5% on everything but the two boxes of diapers. I just thought it might help some people!
The Melea Show says
+Amberly Ostler Yes, thank you! Diapers don't count towards your 20% but help other items hit 20% off. Also, Amazon Family (formerly Amazon Mom) is taking 20% off Diaper Subscribe and Save Orders if you have Amazon Prime right now! So that is something brand new for people to watch for!
Aimee Payne says
+The Melea Show I thought diapers were always 20% off when using subscribe & save + Amazon mom?
Hallie Fry says
Great info, Thanks! The only thing I would add is that you can also easily change your S&S delivery date. So if you are in a hurry for something you don't have to wait too long for it. I have changed my S&S date almost every month!!
The Melea Show says
+Hallie Fry Awesome, thanks for sharing Hallie!
Claudia Costello says
This definitely save time and money, and gas in a way cause I don't have to go to store for these items. Something to keep in mind for later on.
Courtney Stout says
Melea, do you shop at Costco at all? I haven't seen too many deals on your blog or channel about Costco, but to me, their prices usually beat Amazon, especially with household goods (paper products, cleaning supplies, hygiene products, etc). I tried the whole couponing thing, and I know you don't mess with physical coupons anymore, but I find that it's still more tedious/time-consuming to try and save money with Amazon, or the apps you taught us about in a previous video. I find myself constantly on my phone/computer and in the end, still find it cheaper/easier with Costco. I'd love your input on that. Thanks for the videos!
The Melea Show says
+Courtney Stout Hey Courtney! Maybe I should do a video on Costco? I personally think Costco can be really dangerous. I went once with my weekly grocery ad to compare for a post on the blog and a lot of things were cheaper at the grocery store vs. Costco. And on the flip side, there are a handful of things that are always cheaper at Costco. So I think you've just talked me into a video about Costco!
Courtney Stout says
+The Melea Show Melea, if you do decide to do a video on Costco, make sure you point out a common misconception that I've seen from other coupon/money-saving bloggers in the past. I once read someone blog that Costco's cereal, for example, wasn't cheaper than the grocery store. As you know, Costco sells their cereal in boxes of two bags. What this person thought, was that each bag of cereal, was the same size as the cereal bags in one box of cereal at the store. When in reality, those individual bags are BIGGER than an average size box of cereal from the grocery store. So this person's comparison wasn't accurate, price per ounce would have been better. I've seen a lot of people turn away from Costco's "higher prices" on things, because they think it's the same size as the grocery store. So in your video, encourage people to check the SIZES of the products, or check things with the price/ounce method. Their cans of tuna are also bigger, thus making you think the grocery store is a better "deal". I'm sure you're completely aware of this, you know your stuff, but just some advice so other "newbies" like myself don't get the wrong assumption.
The Melea Show says
+Courtney Stout Definitely will! I always encourage people to pull out their phone calculator and do a little math because sizes are SO different. And I've definitely purchased cereal before at Costco because it was cheaper than the grocery store. So I'll keep that in mind for sure!
kdklein381 says
Thanks! What if you get a good price for an at the beginning of the month, but your ship date is at the end of the month? It won't change the price on that first shipment if the price changes right?
The Melea Show says
+kdklein381 RIGHT! That first shipment is whatever you ordered it at… even if it doesn't ship until the end of the month. It's the second shipment that could be a different price.
Kasee Johnson says
I just thought I mention a trick that I use. I DON'T unsubscribe to an item until/unless the price goes up. Amazon sends me an email before they ship my next box and they always let me know the price that I last paid vs the price that it would be in this box … and they give me time to cancel that item! Often, the price goes down and I don't have to worry about spending time looking for a better deal.
The Melea Show says
+Kasee Johnson Great tip Kasee! Love that one. 🙂
BlackRockBrewing says
Yes, definitely learned a lot from this vid. I'm just a single guy, so not everything applies to me like diapers, but I love your money saving tips and I learn a lot from every new video. I am a Disney fiend, so I loved those as well, THANK-YOU!!!
The Melea Show says
+BlackRockBrewing Cool! So glad it helped! Disney for LIFE! 😉
Jennifer Tedjamulia says
So do you only subscribe and save to get the 15% off at that time? Other than that it doesn't seem like there is a point to subscribe and save. Just buy your products with a coupon instead of using subscribe and save…
Jerry Guertin says
Phew, too, too rapid a speaker.

your video was useful i learned alot. our friends share a amazon prime account so i want to know how can i use the pantry with multiple users please.
jawojnicki says
If you are going to unsubscribe and resubscribe to get the best prices, do you need to create a NEW amazon profile for each time you resubscribe? I would find it shocking if amazon let you un/re subscribe under the same username/profile and let you work them over for the best prices all the time! Let me know please. Also, have you or any viewers done any thorough research to see if amazon SAS beats out prices you can get by memberships to warehouse clubs and/or bargain hunting/couponing at grocery stores or discount retailers??

help! when i do suscribe & save and do 6months it automatically shows to ship out the following month. theres deals im missing! help
The Melea Show says
With Sub & Save, items will be shipped out on your monthly "date". Everyone's is different. I believe mine is the 28th of each month. So anything ordered before then will ship by that date in one box. If you want the item sooner, you have to choose the non-subscribe and save price.

I have been using it for a long time. I never even thought about unsubscriing and the re subscribing! Thanks for that tip!
Joedago says
Amazon is pretty slimy jacking up prices once you subscribe, pure trickery. Not all items bump up to 15% after adding 5 items to your cart, half my items stay at 5%, Amazon scamming again. Careful with Amazon, they are out to make as much money off you as possible.
Karina Bryant says
it's crazy to me that there are coupons on Amazon! I had no idea. I love you I am leaning do much! thank you$$
